The staff and nurse of the Mercy Hilltop Center have the following
goals:
* To provide current and accurate health information.
* To enable both older adults and those who love them to act prudently when health decisions are difficult
* To assist the individual's physician with appropriate data, drug reactions, and observed symptoms.
* To ease the anxiety when test procedures are necessary.
* To support those with serious, chronic conditions such as diabetes or impaired heart to live a healthy lifestyle
* To train the staff to act when emergency situations arise.

Often, when a patient visits a doctor or clinic:, efficiency Is the norm. Speed is a goal and patients are quickly processed In and out, over and done. There is no time for questions... no time for explanations.... no time for listening.... no time for education.... no time for uncertainty.
At the Mercy Hilltop Center , our guests are treated as individuals. When they come to the Clinic, the nurse Invites them Into a private treatment room, closes the door and encourages questions or discussion. When she asks, "How are you?" , the question is sincere. When a serious Issue warrants, a call to the patient's doctor Is initiated to advise him/her of the current situation. Many times there are early warnings of a serious condition that are noticed by the patient and only conveyed to medical personnel when encouraged to do so with the right questions. Most doctors welcome the additional information and will eagerly Incorporate the Mercy Hilltop Center nurse Into the care plan. Proper diet and exercise are often difficult when attempted alone. Encouragement and support simplify and confirm that the nutritional meals and Increased movement enhance well-being.
